Beginning in the fall of the university’s 50th anniversary year, the history and future development of UC San Diego’s built environment will be explored and celebrated in “UCSD by Design: Art, Architecture, and Urbanism in the Campus Context,” the centerpiece of which is a five-part public lecture and discussion series beginning Sept. 30.

Beyond the Coyote: The Flat Iron Artists Association is reviving the Coyote name for the Wicker Park/Bucktown Fall Arts Festival on Sept. 10 through 12. Beyond the Coyote is a three-day show and sale that will feature the art of more than 150 painters, sculptors, photographers, performers, poets and musicians.

BLADE STAFF Travelers Through Ancient Lands will open Sept. 10 and continue through Feb. 6 at the Toledo Museum of Art.
